Hari ini memang jadwal Group kami (BACA YUK!) ber-Speak-Up Day! Bulan depannya lagi German. Sayangnya all about Deutch masih buta 😀 #LemparBantal. Alhamdulillah di bulan Maret ada Mba Rusyda Fauzana yang setor resensi dengan Bahasa Inggris. Hemm, akankah di April ini ada yang ‘berani’ nge-resensi pakai Arabic. Hemm, arabic? seriusan? Ok, untuk sementara saya tutup mata 😀

Selamat menikmati !

Assalamualaikum all, tonight I’ll post a review about a book that I think most of people fond of it.

Title: Filosofi Kopi
Genre: anthology of short story, kind of drama and absurd stories.
Writer: Dee Lestari
Published: 2007
Pages: 135

Review:
Actually it’s too late for me to read this book. Since several weeks ago the members of Baca Yuk! were talking about Dee Lestari’s book, then I grabbed her Filosofi Kopi when had fun in Gramedia. This anthology consists of 18 short stories written by Dee for a decade. Of course the most impressing one is Filosofi Kopi. ☕

I read the lastest printed book Filosofi Kopi, published in 2015. Dee put Filosofi Kopi to the first story.

The narrator, named Jody, told the story from his point of view. It was about obsession of Ben on coffee. He spent his time searching for the best coffee around the world.

The story began when they joined to build a cafe. Ben with his skill blend the coffee ingredients made more people impressed and provoked them to come again and again. He always knew how to make innovation and satisfy his customers.

One day, Ben had an idea to attach a philophy for every coffee he made. His customers became more exciting. Until a successful and popular man came to his cafe and asked him to make the best coffee. Ben did it. And put a new philosophy on his new and best coffee recipe. It was Ben’s perfecto: succes is the manifestation of life perfection.

Ben and Jody’s coffee become more popular. Then, a new visitor came and tasted the perfect coffee, but said that it was just a so so coffee. There was another coffe which tasted best of all. Ben got frustrated then tried to find the coffe.

Ben and Jody finally found the coffee. It was a traditional coffee in remote area. Ben felt he failed in all way. He isolated himself and closed the cafe, eventhough his customers wanted to come.

At the end, jody gave him Tiwus coffee and said that there’s no perfection, life is beautiful as it is. Ben realized that he was wrong. He forgot about how people accept his works as they are. They loved it and also loved Ben as he himself. Then, he pumped up his spirit again and open the cafe with dedication to his customers.

This story has strong moral story that one should not compare himself to antother only to feed his ego and arrogance. Just be who we are and do the best for our life.
That’s all my review for tonight. Hope you like it. ☕
